MOSHI-BASED correspondent for ‘HabariLeo’, Arnold Swai, was among seven people who were killed in a road accident in Rombo District yesterday.
The incident occurred at Mwika Mawanjeni area in Rombo District, Kilimanjaro Region; after, according to eye- witnesses, a Mitsubishi Fuso truck with failed brakes rammed onto a Toyota Hilux FWD vehicle in which Swai and six others were in.
The truck overturned during the impact. The correspondent and other party cadres were travelling from Rombo District, heading back to Moshi, after attending celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).
Eye-witnesses feared the death toll could go up as there were some passengers trapped in the cargo section of the overturned truck.
