After days of social media outcry after MTV erroneously awarded Wizkid the Best African Act award during the MTV EMA’s awards, the music powerhouse has finally released a statement declaring Ali Kiba the African music king.
The news on the reversed decision was released on Thursday, four days after MTV declared Wizkid the winner. An online petition is what prompted the reversal.
Last month during the Chris Brown concert in Mombasa, Kenya, Ali Kiba and Wizkid were involved in a war of words backstage as their managements argued on who between the two stars should take the stage first before the American star.
