[Tanzania] VETA promised sufficient budget for purchase of modern training materials

EDUCATION, Science, Technology and Vocational Training Minister Professor Joyce Ndalichako has said the government has set aside sufficient funds to purchase modern training materials for Vocational Education Training Authority (VETA).

The minister made the announcement here over the weekend after touring VETA Dodoma University, affirming that the funds would carter for all required materials to ensure the authority’s smooth training of students.
“The government has set aside enough funds in this financial year to purchase modern training facilities in all VETA training centres, colleges and universities in the country,” she said.
Professor Ndalichako gave the statement in response to the old fashioned training materials that she found at the institute, saying the government was determined to ensure modern training materials were availed to the authority.
VETA Acting Director General Geoffrey Sabuni said all VETA centres and colleges under it were lacking modern training materials to embrace the new technology.
Mr Sabuni said the majority of youth in VETA were in need of the modern technology to help them pursue their trainings and become competitive in the market.
